MORE GOODBYES AND END OF THE SCOOL YEAR ACTIVITIES

As you can see, we are still trying to get our blog updated.  Here it is January 4, 2015 and I am posting Dec. activities.  Oh well, I will try to do better.

It is always hard to say goodbye to our YSA's who are leaving on their missions.  We get so close to them and then they leave.  We are happy for them but sad for us.  

Our Edwina Bogidua who started calling us Grrrandmother and Grrrrandfather when we first got here, left for her mission to Austrailia.  We went to the airport in Nasori to see her off.  Many tears were shed because we have gotten so close to her.  We love you Sister Bogidua and we know that you will be an amazing missionary.

Summer break here in Fiji starts the end of November so we planned a "Schools Out Bash".  Friday night, Dec. 5, we had institute graduation and then a dance.

 Rachel Prasad graduated from institute.  She took 6 classes from Elder Peterson and me and she didn't miss one class. She had a perfect attendance.  We love this girl.

Saturday we had a beach day at Nasali beach in Nasori.  We chartered 2 large buses to take all the YSA's to the beach.  It was raining like crazy but we still had 90 YSA's come.  We are sure we would have had a lot more if it would have been a good day.  Rain never stops the YSA's in Fiji from having fun.  We had a great day swimming, playing rugby on the beach, building sand castles, burring each other in the sand, eating lunch and just being together.  It was a great day.

Sunday we had a fireside where we talked about "He is the Gift".  We talked about sharing The Gift of the Book of Mormon to our nonmember friends.  We gave each one of the YSA's a Book of Mormon, had them write their testimony in it and wrap it in Christmas paper.  We encouraged them to share this most precious gift with someone this Christmas season. It was a great night and a great way to end our fun weekend.
